Refractor Materials Used In the Concentrate Burner

Concentrate burner is one of the key components of the flash furnace. It is used to mix the charge and air, increase the solid-liquid-gas phase reaction interface, speed up the reaction rate, and make the charge load smoothly and evenly distributed in the reaction tower by high-speed jet.

The concentrate burner is relatively simple to use. Concentrate burners with room temperature air blowing are made of metal components without refractory materials. In concentrate burners with mid-temperature air blowing (200-450℃) and high temperature air blowing (450-900℃), the shell should be insulated with refractory materials to reduce the heat loss and improve the working conditions. In order to make the sulfur not oxidized in the central tube, the central tube of concentrate burners with high temperature air blowing should be water-cooled. The water cooling copper tube should be wrapped with refractory materials. since the preheating air is below 900℃ and there is no scouring and corrosion by the charge or melt, high alumina refractory castables or ramming mass are used in the burner.

The direction and shape of the mixed steam of charge and air formed by the concentrate burner is crucial for the service life of the reaction tower lining bricks. Different refractory bricks have been developed for different situations.
