Fused cast alumina block is a type of widely used refractory material. It is mainly made of α-Al2O3 and β-Al2O3. It has dense crystal structure and good corrosion resistance to glass liquid under 1350℃. Therefore, it is widely used in the glass furnaces.
The classification of fused alumina is as followings:
1)White fused alumina
White fused alumina is an industrial raw material and made by melting in an electric arc furnace, cooling and crystallization. It is white and abbreviated to WFA.
2)Dense fused alumina
It is made of industrial alumina as the raw material by melting in an electric arc furnace, cooling and crystallization. It is gray and off-white and abbreviated to DFA.
3)Sub-white Corundum
Also known as high-alumina corundum, it is made of bauxite as the main raw material by melting in an electric arc furnace, cooling and crystallization. It is gray and abbreviated to SFA.
4)Brown Fused Alumina
It is made of high alumina bauxite as the main raw material by melting in an electric arc furnace, cooling and crystallization. It is brown and abbreviated to BFA.
